After 15 years and 30 seasons, the show is venturing into a celebrity spinoff featuring already-known singers.
“The Voice” is switching things up a bit in 2027, with a new celebrity edition hosted by none other than Keke Palmer.
According to NBC Universal and multiple outlets, “The Voice: Celebrity” will feature “a wide range of celebrities – actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television stars – competing to become the first ‘Voice’ celebrity champion.”
In an Instagram video sharing the news, Palmer played along with the “voice” trend, this time pronouncing “This is The Voice” in various tones from flirty to disappointed, happy and even sarcastically.
“That’s right, it’s true!” she exclaimed. “I am hosting ‘The Voice,’ I’ll see you guys there.”
Celebrity contestants will be announced at a later date but the show’s coaches have already been locked in. Queen Latifah, Joe Jonas and Riley Green will all be on hand to help celebrity contestants through a bootcamp, where they’ll prepare for blind auditions, a workroom where they brainstorm and strategize ahead of battles and a “VIP Room” where they watch other contestants perform and share their thoughts.
Latifah and Green are already set to take part in the show’s regular edition, which is hosted by Carson Daly and will hold its 30th season beginning on Monday, September 21.
Palmer continues to remain booked and busy on the network. She also serves as the host of “Password” with Jimmy Fallon as the show’s resident celebrity player. Palmer earned one of her two Primetime Emmy Awards for “Password,” winning in the Outstanding Game Show Host category in 2023. She also stars on the Peacock original series “The ‘Burbs” and continues to win over listeners and more with her “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast.
