Sahli Negassi, a senior at West Orange High School in New Jersey, has achieved a perfect score of 1600 on the SAT, a widely used college entrance exam.
This is the news we should be elevating, especially in a time when half of the country and an entire political party is onboard with dismantling systems that give exceptional students like Sahil a chance to be considered.
What We Know:
- Negassi balanced this achievement while participating in two sports, leading two clubs, and taking multiple AP classes.
- West Orange High School Principal Oscar Guerrero praised Negassi’s accomplishment and overall excellence.
- Negassi aspires to attend Harvard University and pursue a career in law or engineering.
- Less than 1% of students achieve a perfect SAT score, approximately 1,000 students per year.
Principal Guerrero stated, “Sahli represents the best of West Orange High School. His achievement on the SAT is incredible, but what’s just as impressive is how he manages to excel across so many different activities.”
Regarding his future plans, Negassi said, “Harvard is the best school on my list to support me in that process. Give me 10 years, and I’ll be out in the world doing something more important than a standardized test!”
Negassi’s accomplishment demonstrates exceptional academic ability and time management skills, setting a high standard for his peers and future students.
