Christine Wonsley found herself under review following an anonymous complaint, as the harassment she has faced in her quest to find out what happened to her son has intensified.
A professional misconduct case against Christine Wells Wonsley, the mother of Nolan Wells, has been closed, according to Wonsley.
In a post shared on her Facebook account, Wonsley stated that the case added “more hurt” to what has been a devastating period in her life following the loss of her son last month.
“I love my job, and I love my patients,” she wrote. “NOLAN’S CASE IS STILL ONGOING.. Again, the question is: WHAT HAPPENED TO NOLAN?”
Earlier Wednesday, Wonsley’s attorney Ben Crump issued a statement regarding the anonymous complaint, calling it a form of “intimidation” and a “warning shot” to try to silence Wonsley in her quest for justice concerning her son.
“We will not let it stand,” Crump wrote. “Christine served her patients for years without a single complaint to the board. The only thing that changed is that she started asking questions.
“No family should have to fight this battle while burying their child. We will keep demanding the facts until Christine knows how her son died.”
According to Crump, the complaint was filed only after Wonsley began questioning what occurred with Nolan the day he disappeared, as she had taken leave to prepare for his funeral.
Nolan Wells’ body was discovered on July 6, two days after he was last seen on Horn Island, Mississippi, following a July 4th gathering. His cause of death remains unconfirmed following the performance of two autopsies. The result of one, which was conducted by the Mississippi medical examiner, has yet to be released to the public. The other, which Crump and the family ordered with the assistance of Colin Kaepernick, returned inconclusive results.
